Exception Reports
Web-based reporting that allows field management to monitor and track key performance and fraud indicators to ensure management time is more effectively spent resolving issues than identifying them. The major categories of Exception Reports are Discounts, Rentals, Vacates and Units. Discounts reports include but are not limited to reports on discounts given for 12-month leases, Move-in Specials discounts, Employee Discounts, and Charity Units. Rentals reports include uncollected per vacate and 12-month lease vacates. Waived fees and Reversal reports include; waived fees, preversals, and cash reversals, and the Units exceptions reports show square-foot change and maintenance units. Each of these reports specifically drills into an aspect of either selling or maintaining a unit and/or a facility that helps Extra Space Storage better manage the property, effectively allocate monies for upgrades, and ensures that facilites are being marketed and units are being rented to the best advantage.

Auto Reconciliation
The process whereby financial data is downloaded from all ESS banks, and placed into a web report to help property accountants in the monthly reconciliation process. Site financial data, including cash and GL transactions, is downloaded from Centershift and entered into Great Plains. The bank files are then reconciled with all of the data in Great Plains. This process reduces fraud and allows the property accountants to close-out the month more efficiently and in less time.

Digital Cockpit
This is a fully user customizable web-based program developed by Extra Space Storage that allows authorized individuals to view specific facility information in real-time. The user can choose to see things like daily rental numbers, daily real-income, move outs, etc. This tool allows the user to determine what will be viewed and is accessible from anywhere there is an internet connection. The user is no longer dependant upon someone else to provide a report or status update. All information about a facility is at the User’s fingertips.
