Treasure seekers are turning out in droves for self storage auctions across the country, mainly due to the hit A&E series “Storage Wars.” Numbers of attendees have exploded since the show premiered last fall. Feeling confident in handling large auctions and knowing the ins and outs of lien laws is on the minds of many self storage operators.

If there is one thing that people can almost universally complain about it is their commute to work. It is bad enough that you have to spend eight or more hours a day at the office, but to be stuck getting up an hour early to drive in and then be stuck in traffic again at night is not the most pleasant thing in the world to do.

On a figurative level there is probably not a person alive that does not think that having a little more space would be a life saver. Having your house or apartment crammed with too much stuff can make life seem not as pleasant as it could be. No one likes feeling like their crammed into a box constantly tripping over stuff, right?

There comes a time in every business effort where you will find that you are in dire need of new customers. Continued discontent from some Idaho lawmakers over the state’s purchase of a self storage property for a commercial venture prompted the introduction of a new bill on Tuesday that would set restrictions on what types of buildings the state Land Board can purchase in the future for investment purposes.

The hard part about getting into business is not in starting it. Neither is the difficult part maintaining it on a day to day basis either. What is hard about running a business, be it self storage or any other, is in learning what you need to do to make operations as easy as possible and hence as profitable as possible as well.
