Sometimes charity organizations get overwhelmed with possessions – just like individuals and families. And, just like individuals and families, they need extra space to store them. And, just like individuals and families, they turn to self storage facilities to help relieve the need for storage.
Urban Surf 4 Kids has been collecting donations from corporations and private individuals in anticipation of opening a thrift store. These donations were overwhelming their office space located on Utah Street in San Diego. [More]

Edgy. Fresh. Hip. Avant guard. These adjectives describe Manhattan Mini Storage. They are well known for their ads; some poked fun at New Yorkers, some at politicians, some at life. Regardless of the topic, they were the talk of the town.
Manhattan Mini Storage is also known for their unique customers. Remember the ‘crazy piano guy?’ The guy who stored several dismantled grand pianos at Manhattan Mini Storage and then on fair weather days wheeled out a dismantled grand piano, put it back together and then played it? One of the largest portfolio sales in recent self storage industry history was just finalized. Morningstar Properties sold 43 of their facilities for $315 million to Public Storage. The sale included over 2.9 million square feet in properties in North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia, and Georgia. This sale is the largest portfolio sale in recent industry history and has the highest valuation for storage outside of New York City. That’s quite an accomplishment. [More]

There are things that can make our lives a lot easier if we use them. Instead of using a traditional push lawnmower for your grass you can use a self-propelling one (or a riding mower). Rather type a report on a typewriter we can use word processing programs on computers. The same concept can apply to the business world, self storage and otherwise. [More]
