Self storage facilities are often active in charities on a local, national, and even international level. Choosing one has to be hard for a company to do. What kind of reach do they want? Who do they want to help? Do they want to be a primary donor or are they okay with being one of many?

There are a number of different strategies that facilities take into their charitable activities with no one being more right than another. The important thing is the work they accomplish helping others whether it is for five people or fifty-five people.

Self storage owners and managers are very community minded people. They participate in many charitable projects that benefit the community where their facility is located. They provide things such as scholarships, toys, coats, food, warm bedding, books, and money for medical research. A-1 Self Storage in Fullerton, California, recently announced that they will support the Coast to Coast Foundation efforts.

The creation and ensuing popularity of reality television has made many people in Hollywood wonder what can work and what will not work as entertainment on television. It goes without saying that reality shows are less expensive to produce, but if you don’t have something that will grasp the attention of viewers that will not matter. A failed show no matter how expensive or cheap is still money lost.

There is a moment in the movie Jerry Maguire when Bob Sugar thinks he is talking to Frank Cushman (the No. 1 pick in the draft) when it is actually Jerry Maguire when he tells him that he is swimming with the big boys; that he’s gone global—worldwide. While it is entirely possible for a professional athlete to have that kind of influence quickly, it is a little bit harder for a business.

During his presidency George W. Bush passed a well-intentioned piece of legislation with the purpose of trying to make sure that children in the United States received the education they need to be a success when they get older. While the government may shoot for all children, others—like various members of the self storage industry-- try to do what they can for those in their community.
