Springtime is a time of new growth in the natural world. Trees and shrubs are starting to leaf out. Tulips and daffodils are blooming. Many animals give birth to their young. As changes to lien laws sweep across the country for the self storage industry, Colorado is the latest state to enact changes to streamline the legal process. Last week, Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper signed into law Senate Bill 11-039, “A Bill for an Act Concerning the Consequences of Default in Payments Due for Storage of Personal Property in a Self-Storage Facility” which improves the state’s lien laws for self storage operators. Looking for ways to cut back on energy costs is the eco-friendly wave of the future for self storage companies. It’s good for the environment, it’s easy on the wallet and customers like the idea of doing business with a company that is sensitive to the growing need for environmentally-friendly design and construction.
