Bicycle to Work -- It's Good For You!

by Kim Kilpatrick June 13, 2014 4:49 PM
Many businesses sponsor health and wellness activities for their employees to participate in. The purpose is to encourage employees to adopt a healthy life style. Employees benefit by being healthier. Employers benefit because (hopefully) employees do not miss as much work due to illness. They both benefit by spending less money on medical bills. [More]

SpareFoot Creates Storage Industry Disaster Relief Fund

Sunday, a rash of tornadoes hit the Midwest and the South. Monday, a fresh flurry of deadly twisters raged though the same region. The extreme weather system also brought severe thunderstorms, hail, and flash floods.

Homes were ripped from their foundations. Vehicles were tossed about like toy Matchbook cars. Residents of Little Rock re-lived a nearly identical experience from the twister in April of 2011 that took almost the exact same route. [More]

Contest Winner Plays at SpareFoot's Party

SpareFoot Self Storage Finder had a clever idea at the beginning of this year. They decided to hold a battle of the bands – sort of. The battle was not carried out in person. The battle was held on YouTube. For the bands to participate, the band had to practice in a self storage unit. (The parents of band members are probably grateful that the bands practice in a storage unit. Having the band practice there saves the parents’ hearing!) [More]

Do you know which city in the United States has the official motto as the “live Music Capital of the World?” Is it Boston with its Boston Pops orchestra, the Boston symphony, and the Boston Musicians’ Association that has over 1,600 professional musicians?

What about Philadelphia, which is home to the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Wanamaker Grand Organ, a jazz festival, Bach festival, and folk festival – and is the birthplace to early vocalists who were prominent in the early ears of rock and roll such as Chubby Checker, Frankie Avalon, and Bobby Rydell? "Clear that Clutter" Sweepstake Sponsored by SpareFoot

by Holly Robinson November 21, 2013 4:27 PM
Years ago, my aunt read a book called Clutter’s Last Stand by Don Aslett. She loved that book because it helped her figure out ways to de-junk and de-clutter her home. SpareFoot in Austin, Texas, is providing impetus (like the book did for my aunt) to help people ‘clear that clutter’ from their home.

SpareFoot is sponsoring a ‘Clear that Clutter’ sweepstakes to help consumers win the war against their stuff that is stuffed all over their home and garage. People can enter the sweepstakes from now until December 15. The winner of the sweepstakes will get up to six months’ worth of storage from SpareFoot in the form of a $500 Visa gift card. [More]

Austin is a cool place. It's trendy. It is the mecca that draws new college grads and millennials. It sports foot trucks especially for dogs and it is home to techies and hippies. Part of that cool techie scene is SpareFoot, an online marketplace where customers can find and reserve storage units online. [More]

SpareFoot Steps Up to Help Tornado Victims

by Kim Kilpatrick May 21, 2013 7:05 PM
What once were houses are now just piles of shredded and splintered wood. Cars have been flung around like toys. A local hospital is gutted. Two elementary schools damaged.

Random items remained unscathed. A cardboard box of tax returns sits on a pile of wood that used to be a home. An empty water bottle remains untouched in a home that was destroyed. A bathroom was left standing while the rest of the home is gone. [More]
