An Innovative Way to Manage the Front Desk in a Self Storage Facility

by Kim Kilpatrick July 9, 2013 8:30 PM
There are many inventions that have improved the way companies do business. Conveyor belts have significantly decreased the production time of many products. Just-in-time manufacturing reduces the need for keeping large amounts of inventory in warehouses. Self-checkout machines in grocery stores enables customers to quickly make their purchases.

Inventions in the self storage industry have also impacted the way business is done. Xpress Storage (which is owned by Hide-Away Storage LLC) has just opened its second facility that uses a kiosk as the front desk ‘manager.’ The concept of having a kiosk focuses on customer convenience. This means that customers now have the ability to rent a unit 24 hours a day at the Express Storage facilities. [More]

If I gave you one string, you could probably break it without any problem. If I gave you a rope (which is made out of many strings wound tightly together), you would have a difficult time breaking it. Joining strings together make them stronger. The same principle applies to people and events. When they join their efforts, those efforts are stronger and benefit more people.

STORE Self Storage & Wine Storage (a single string) is joining together with Palm Beach Gardens (another single string) to create a strong event for the community. They are combining their separate green markets and making it one jumbo event. [More]

An old adage states, “Don’t judge a book by its cover.” Sometimes a book may have a worn out or boring cover but the story is griping and fascinating. The same principle could be applied to a business. Don’t judge a business by its curb appeal. Even if the business’ curb appeal may be boring it could still be a great business.

But why chance it? [More]
