New Colorado Self Storage Facility Earns Gold LEED Certification

It takes a lot of dedication and resolution to decide to “go green” when building a new self storage facility. The ultimate prize is to become LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified through the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) which outlines strict criteria for builders to follow. And while the up-front price tag will be five to ten percent higher to build a sustainable, LEED-certified structure, the building’s functional life expectancy is longer and long-term costs are less. ISS World Expo Approaches

It’s that time of year again -- time for the Inside Self-Storage World Expo, which will be held from Wednesday, Sept. 29, through Friday, Oct. 1 in New Orleans. The ISS World Expo is a wonderful opportunity for self storage professionals to meet, network, and learn about issues ranging from everyday facility maintenance and management, to green building, to financing and legal issues.
