This month, the Johnson and Ellis Counties in Texas launched a new segment to their Meals-on-Wheels program. They are now delivering dog and cat food to their clients who own those types of pets.

Linda Deese, with Meals-on-Wheels, indicated that pets provide senior citizens with friendship, joy, and a reason for living. However, many times those seniors do not have money to buy food for themselves or for their pets. Meals-on-Wheel volunteers often see the seniors sharing their delivered meal with their pet. Many employers are very concerned about hiring good employees. They want to make sure they ‘get the right people on the bus’ – meaning they want to make sure they hire the right people. Many businesses sink or swim (or float aimlessly in circles) depending on whether or not the employees are a good fit for the business.

On the other hand, it’s good for a business owner or manager to stop and review just what type of leader he is and how effective he is. His leadership ability is just as important as having good employees on board.

Believe it or not, owners and managers of self storage facilities are leaders just as much as a CEO of a Fortune 500. They need to have some of the same skills that those CEOs need. [More]

Chelton Self Storage in Colorado Springs recently changed their landscaping. They renovated it so that is uses xeriscaping and is eco-friendly.

Xeriscape is a word that was created by morphing two words together. "Xeros" is the Greek word for 'dry.' Landscaping is a word that means the process of designing yards and gardens. Old Dallas Walmart Becomes New Self Storage Facility

Four Dallas-area residents, tired of looking at an empty Walmart building that has stood empty for six years, have decided to buy Walmart’s old retail building and convert it into a self storage facility. The Walmart will be turned into a Just Store It. The interior demolition work is already finished, and work on the interior renovations began today. The development is the brainchild of developer Brad Tidwell of Dallas, who looked at the old Walmart building and saw a conversion deal.
