Employee turnover presents a huge training hurdle for managers and owners of self storage facilities to overcome. Besides being trained in their duties and procedures new employees need to be trained in risk management. Training – especially when it’s done in a one-on-one situation – can be expensive. But the consequences that could happen if an employee is not trained in risk management are vastly more expensive in the long run. [More]

I never win contests. Never. Then, a couple of years ago I entered one and won a two-night stay in a bed and breakfast in Carmel, California. Holy cow! The bed and breakfast was a delightful place and I had a wonderful time in Carmel.

The clock is ticking down to January 1, 2014. That date is the deadline when the total law for “Obamacare” goes into effect.
The Self Storage Association (SSA), the official trade organization and voice of the American and International self storage-industry, announced that it has expanded its health insurance coverage. SSA members will now be able to participate in the SSA Health Insurance Marketplace, a private healthcare exchange program created by SSA partnering with MiniCo Insurance Agency. [More]
