History is Made in the Self Storage Industry

One of the largest portfolio sales in recent self storage industry history was just finalized. Morningstar Properties sold 43 of their facilities for $315 million to Public Storage. The sale included over 2.9 million square feet in properties in North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia, and Georgia. This sale is the largest portfolio sale in recent industry history and has the highest valuation for storage outside of New York City. That’s quite an accomplishment. [More]

It’s totally amazing all of the activities in the self storage industry. All of these happenings indicate that the industry is strong, vibrant, and growing. Here are three news items across the United States that are examples of what is going on.

First, a Charolotte-based self storage company bought a storage facility in Virginia-Highland. (Virginia-Highland is a neighborhood in Atlanta, Georgia, that was named after the intersection of two streets Virginia Avenue and North Highland Avenue. Sometimes it would be nice to have a crystal ball to peer into it to see what the future will bring. Business owners, especially, would be eager to have one. They could look into the future to learn how the national economy would be, to see if the country would soon be in a deep recession or if the economy would be prosperous. [More]
