Self Storage Developers Conference to be Held in June

Inside Self Storage announced that it will hold an exclusive one-day conference for developers and investors in the self storage industry. It will be held Tuesday June 3 at the Jacob Javits Center in New York City. It will go from 8:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m.

Registration for the conference is $799. Registration is now open. Those interested can go to http://www.insideselfstorage.com/conf/ to sign up. Space is limited to 100 participation so early registration is encouraged. [More]

Three years ago, Stuff Hotel, a San Antonio-based self storage business, installed solar panels on one of their facilities. The facility was a test case for them. They wanted to see how much savings they got before putting solar panels on their other facilities.

The company installed a 28-kilowatt solar array at their facility at the 9018 Poteet Jourdanton Freeway location. Recently, they added more solar panels and expanded their system by another 21-kilowatts. [More]

Yesterday, a nor'easter hit New York City and blanketed the city with thick, wet snow and cold temperatures. The heavy snow downed power lines and broke tree limbs weakened by Storm Sandy. There are over 200000 new power outages in the area. While temperatures will get warmer for the weekend, this storm is just an hors d'oeuvre served before the full-course meal of winter settles in. StorageMart Supports Women in Need Inc. by Partnering with Charity Storage

Today, StorageMart announced that it has joined with Charity Storage in an effort to support Women In Need Inc. (WIN). WIN serves the homeless women and children in New York City.

On Valentine’s Day in 1983, Women in Need (WIN) and the Church of St. Mary the Virgin in midtown Manhattan, opened their first emergency residence. Ten homeless women were admitted. What a sweet gift it was to these women. For almost 30 years, Women in Need has provided homeless women (and their children) with safe, clean housing and support for the women to develop skills to become self-reliant. [More]
