New Zealand Self Storage Facility For Sale

The only self storage facility in Kawerau, New Zealand, is up for sale. It will be auctioned on March 6, 2013 – unless a private investor steps in to purchase it.

Kawerau Secure Storage has been owned and operated by the current owners since 2005. It has 102 units and has a 60% occupancy rate. The facility sits on a 4,697 square meter parcel of land. [More]

Australian Investors Looking for Self Storage Opportunities

About a year ago, two pioneers of the Australian self storage industry, Dallas Dogger and Sam Kennard, reported in Inside Self-Storage that the Australian self storage market was starting to decline. New inquiries about self storage in Australia had, as of last November, dropped about 10 to 20 percent from their peak in 2007 and 2008, possibly in response to the global recession.
