US Storage Centers Acquired a Self Storage Facility in Delray Beach, Florida

History is Made in the Self Storage Industry

One of the largest portfolio sales in recent self storage industry history was just finalized. Morningstar Properties sold 43 of their facilities for $315 million to Public Storage. The sale included over 2.9 million square feet in properties in North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia, and Georgia. This sale is the largest portfolio sale in recent industry history and has the highest valuation for storage outside of New York City. That’s quite an accomplishment. [More]

A-1 Self Storage Partners with Noah Homes

A-1 Self Storage is expanding their work with charitable organizations. For many years, they have sponsored Serving Hands International that is a not-for-profit charity that provides food, shelter, medical aid, education, and spiritual support to people living in poverty. A-1 Self Storage is expanding their charitable efforts. They recently made a financial contribution to Noah Homes, which are homes for people who are developmentally disabled. [More]

E-SoftSys Releases New Version of Self Storage Manager Program

E-SoftSys provides products and services for the self storage industry. They have a software program, Self Storage Manager, that helps owners and managers of self storage facilities to efficiently run their business. Recently, they released version 3.2 of their Self Storage Manager software program and their e-CRM module (customer relationship management).

They aggressively seek feedback from their customers. They use this information to improve their product and have incorporated many of the suggestions into their updated software program. Because of all of the input, this version contains over 70 new features. [More]

Hard working. Dedicated. Helpful. Courteous. Congenial. All of those words describe people who work in the self storage industry. But there is another descriptive word that stands out almost head and shoulders above all of the others. And that word is charitable.

Owners and managers of self storage facilities want to support their communities and the people who live in them. They are always participating in fund raising activities that support those in need. They are also willing to donate money to non-profit organizations to support their cause. [More]

There’s been a general feeling lately that the economy is improving. Often, the health of small businesses is an indicator of the health of the U.S. economy. Some analysts feel that the buying and selling of these businesses indicate whether the economy is strong or weak. There is some debate on this issue yet the numbers for business sales for 2012 are above the sales figures for 2011.
