Some storage facilities have office space and amenities that attract small businesses or entrepreneurs. Some facilities offer customers climate and temperature controlled units where customers can store their wine.

Yesterday, a nor'easter hit New York City and blanketed the city with thick, wet snow and cold temperatures. The heavy snow downed power lines and broke tree limbs weakened by Storm Sandy. There are over 200000 new power outages in the area. While temperatures will get warmer for the weekend, this storm is just an hors d'oeuvre served before the full-course meal of winter settles in. Real Estate Investors Snapping Up Self Storage Deals

Several self storage real estate transactions have been in the news this week as the market for self storage facilities steadily improves.

Highway 79 Super Storage of Temecula, California, was sold this week for 93 percent of its asking price. The final sale, which was brokered by Marcus & Millichap, was for seven million dollars. The buyers and sellers were represented by Nick Walker and Michelle Watson, of Marcus & Millichap’s National Self Storage Group, and by Jake Steele and Andy Glinski, from its Special Assets Group.
