by Tony Gonzalez October 21, 2013 2:57 PM
If a student in school receives a 100% on an assignment, that means that the student got every single question right. If a business gets a 100% on a customer survey, that means that they, too, got everything right according to their female customers’ expectations.

University Self Storage in Sarasota, Florida, received the Women’s Choice Award® given out by WomenCertified ®. The award was based on a customer satisfaction survey recently conducted by WomenCertified using the University Self Storage’s customer database. And ultimately, they got 100% on the survey. [More]

An Innovative Way to Manage the Front Desk in a Self Storage Facility

by Kim Kilpatrick July 9, 2013 8:30 PM
There are many inventions that have improved the way companies do business. Conveyor belts have significantly decreased the production time of many products. Just-in-time manufacturing reduces the need for keeping large amounts of inventory in warehouses. Self-checkout machines in grocery stores enables customers to quickly make their purchases.

Inventions in the self storage industry have also impacted the way business is done. Xpress Storage (which is owned by Hide-Away Storage LLC) has just opened its second facility that uses a kiosk as the front desk ‘manager.’ The concept of having a kiosk focuses on customer convenience. This means that customers now have the ability to rent a unit 24 hours a day at the Express Storage facilities. [More]

Earlier this month, though, another important self storage conclave took place -- the fall conference of the national Self Storage Association. At the Self Storage Association conference, the Self Storage Association Foundation (SSAF) met as well. The SSAF Board, among its other responsibilities, also nominates persons to be inducted into the Self Storage Association Hall of Fame. This year, the SSAF inducted two new members into its Hall of Fame: Steve Wilson of Hide-Away Storage in Sarasota, Florida, and Bill Kenney of All American Self Storage in San Mateo, California. Stay in One Place, Sunrise Self Storage Facilities, and Google Will Find You Eventually

by Winnie Hsiu September 22, 2010 11:57 PM
According to the United States Search and Rescue Task Force, the thing to do if you get lost is to stay in one place -- and stay together. Sunrise, Florida, and its more than 86,000 citizens have been doing just that for 50 years, since Sunrise (originally called Sunset) was first established. Yet for almost a month this summer, Google Maps sent viewers who were looking for Sunrise to Sarasota -- a city that is 200 miles away and on the other side of the state -- instead. Not only was the city of Sunrise lost, but so were all its businesses (including many self storage facilities), addresses, and even city hall, much to the mayor’s dismay. [More]
