In many respects corporations have taken over the business landscape steadily pushing out the little Mom and Pop shops. However there are still some industries like the self storage industry that are still largely dominated by the little guys.

No one wants to pay the government any more in taxes than they have to. They especially do not want to have to start paying an additional amount after having grown accustomed to paying a lower amount. That is what many in the self storage industry in the UK have been faced with since a value added tax has been added to their industry.

Going into business is not an easy thing to do. Just making the decision is hard enough. Tack on all the planning and design work that goes into it and it can take months before you are even ready to break ground or purchase an existing building. One of the first decisions that have to be made of course is where you are going to go.

Now that Thanksgiving has come and gone there is one thing that is probably pretty safe to say about the entire country—it’s cold. Air conditioners are being turned off, shorts are being put away for the winter, and sandals are headed to the back of the closet. It’s time for heaters, long sleeves, coats, and warm fuzzy socks; whatever it takes to stay warm and toasty while it’s cold and frosty outside.

It is not uncommon when a person does their job really well that they eventually get a promotion. An increased work load and more responsibility will typically come with that promotion. To some that may sound undesirable, but to make it worth your while it usually comes with an increased paycheck as well.

Self storage auctions are an unfortunate part of doing business in the self storage industry, but an important one nonetheless. Recent years have seen the popularity of them grow exponentially as the economy has turned more and more people to the self storage industry. Auctions have become so popular that whole businesses and even television shows have been based on them.

In an ideal world guys would all look like Tim Tebow running through the rain with his shirt off and women would all look like Leryn Franco, Paraguay’s drop-dead gorgeous javelin thrower.
