When we were all kids there were certain milestones we looked forward to like being able to stay up a little later, being tall enough to ride the really fun rides at the fair, or taking that first driving lesson as a teenager. As much as we strive for and wish to reach personal milestones, those that companies set for themselves are just as important.

If there is one thing that everyone in the world likes to do, whether they are any good at it or not, it is sing. We’ve all sung in the shower, during the National Anthem at ball games, while driving, or via the local karaoke bar. Shows like American Idol has made singing competitions almost become in vogue.

Everyone knows that guy that can’t stop talking about himself. At first they don’t mind him, but after a while people get tired of hearing him sing his own praises so much. However, if he were to sing the praises of someone else, than people would take notice.

Sometimes companies come up with their own marketing strategy and SmartStop Self Storage has come up with one – one that is a winner. It is innovative and very appealing especially to those who have a little bit of creativity and a bit of technical experience. That campaign is a video jingle contest.

There have been thousands of great business ideas, self storage or otherwise, that have failed over the years for one reason alone—people didn’t know that much about them. In some respects it might have been too hard to get the word out on a business in time for it to be successful. Thanks to modern technology, that has all changed.

There is one thing that they will tell you on the first day of business school no matter where you go—you have to spend money to make money. It is virtually impossible not to spend something whether it is on advertising, labor, merchandise, or any number of things. However, what they don’t always tell you that if done right, giving away money can help you make it as well.

Most of us have either played little league baseball or Pop Warner football or now have kids of our own that play one or both of those sports (or something else). The one thing that every single kid on the playing field had in common was (besides the love of the game) that somewhere on their uniform was the name of someone’s company/business.
