StorageMart Announces the Winner of "Draw My Favorite Teacher" Contest

Throughout the years, there have been many very close elections. For example, in 1876, Rutherford B. Hayes won the electoral vote for president of the United States over Samuel J. Tilden by one vote. In 1796, John Adams won by a mere 3 electoral votes.

Similar to these close races, StorageMart recently held a contest that was extremely close. The winner led by the narrow margin of just 2 votes. Ms. Gutman of Public School 172 in Brooklyn, New York, was voted the grand prize winner of StorageMart’s contest “Draw My Favorite Teacher.” [More]

StorageMart Announces Next Round of Scholarships to be Awarded

Many colleges and universities across the United States have announced that their tuition will go up for the 2013-2014 school year. The Annual Survey of the Colleges by the College Board Advocacy & Policy Center indicated that yearly tuition for four-year universities increased $400 on average. StorageMart supports many local charities such as the Ronald McDonald House, the Habitat for Humanity, and Women in Need Inc. They also award scholarships, assist with adoption and foster care programs, and reach out and help animal shelters. Today, StorageMart announced that it has joined with Charity Storage in an effort to support Women In Need Inc. (WIN). WIN serves the homeless women and children in New York City.

On Valentine’s Day in 1983, Women in Need (WIN) and the Church of St. Mary the Virgin in midtown Manhattan, opened their first emergency residence. Ten homeless women were admitted. What a sweet gift it was to these women. For almost 30 years, Women in Need has provided homeless women (and their children) with safe, clean housing and support for the women to develop skills to become self-reliant. [More]
