SpareFoot Creates Storage Industry Disaster Relief Fund

Sunday, a rash of tornadoes hit the Midwest and the South. Monday, a fresh flurry of deadly twisters raged though the same region. The extreme weather system also brought severe thunderstorms, hail, and flash floods.

Homes were ripped from their foundations. Vehicles were tossed about like toy Matchbook cars. Residents of Little Rock re-lived a nearly identical experience from the twister in April of 2011 that took almost the exact same route. [More]

New Storage Facility Breaks Ground in Schertz, Texas

Ground breaking for a new self storage facility in Schertz, Texas, recently took place. Brian Cisarik, Robert Loeb, and Jeff Bailey are the three developers for the project. When completed, the new facility will have 113,000 square feet. It is currently scheduled to open in January 2015. It will be part of the SurePoint Self Storage brand. [More]

Joshua Self Storage Auction to Benefit Skydiving Accident Victim

On January 25, sixteen-year old Makenzie Wethington, from Joshua, Texas, made a static-line skydiving jump. (That is where a parachute is attached to a line that automatically opens the parachute after the person jumps from the plane.)

Her parachute opened but then Makenzie went into spiral fall. She fell approximately 3,500 feet to the ground and suffered a broken lumbar spine, a broken pelvis, a broken shoulder blade, and several broken ribs. Her liver was damaged and one of her teeth was knocked out. [More]

Contest Winner Plays at SpareFoot's Party

SpareFoot Self Storage Finder had a clever idea at the beginning of this year. They decided to hold a battle of the bands – sort of. The battle was not carried out in person. The battle was held on YouTube. For the bands to participate, the band had to practice in a self storage unit. (The parents of band members are probably grateful that the bands practice in a storage unit. Having the band practice there saves the parents’ hearing!) [More]

Texas Self Storage Association Makes Large Donation to the Shriners Children's Hospital
