In Fairfield, Connecticut, Westy Self Storage is participating in the Toys for Tots donation drive again this year. The drive will run until December 24. People can drop off new toys 7 days a week from 8:00 a.m. through 6:00 p.m. on weekdays and from 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Saturdays and 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 on Sundays.

Christmas time tends to bring out the best and worst in a lot of people. If you have ever been present when the hottest toy is being cleared off the shelves by parents you’ve seen the worst (remember the Cabbage Patch kids from the 80s?). Luckily, the best is a more common trait and is evident with the way people give to charity at this time of the year.

Thursday the country gathered with friends and family to give thanks, eat a ridiculous amount of food, and watch football. On Friday while some had to return to work, many stayed in the safe confines of their home, but many more kicked off the holiday season in one of the best ways possible—shopping.

Around this time of year there are several things that people like to do. Besides gather at Mom and Dad’s house for Thanksgiving dinner and football folks often like to go outside and play a game themselves, go to a movie, or any of a number of things. The task may be noting special any other time of the year, but since it is during the Holiday Season it carries the weight of being a tradition.

There is a popular song that many radio stations will start playing around this time of year that talks about poor grandma getting run over by a reindeer. While this is obviously done in gest, the good folks of Saint Charles, Missouri, will have to be careful when they head to town. Otherwise they might find themselves getting run over by a Santa.
