In the mid-1990s, the city of Lacey, Washington, main industries revolved around forest products, cattle, milk, and retail. Over the years, it has evolved into a bedroom community to the Olympia, Washington, metropolitan area and Fort Lewis. However, in recent years, business developments have moved it out of a ‘bedroom community’ status to an independent city with many of its own services and businesses.
