During the summer months, many cities across the United States hold celebrations for the founding of their city. Next week, Poulsbo, Washington, will hold their 45th Annual Viking Fest on May 17-19, 2013, to celebrate the spirit of their Scandinavian founders.
Many self storage owners and operators like to participate and support city activities such as the Viking Fest. And, Pro-Guard Self Storage is one of those businesses that supports the Viking Fest.

If there is one thing that every consumer likes to see whether the product is a self storage unit or something else it is the word ‘discount.’ People do not like to pay full price. They want it lower, and will often predicate their entire shopping decision on that one concept barring a drastic difference in quality— the cheaper option.

When we are kids we love our birthdays. It’s a great excuse for our parents to pamper us, we can get away with anything, the day is all about us, not to mention the cake and presents! Our opinions sometimes change when we get older, but when it comes to ‘birthdays’ in the self storage industry the older the birthday the bigger reason to celebrate.

Springtime is a good time to take a critical look at the landscaping around your self storage facility. Facilities without any landscaping look bleak and unwelcoming. Good landscaping adds greatly to the curb appeal for your business. Potential customers are more willing to rent units from a business that is well-landscaped than from one that isn’t.

Collegiate Storage and Rental, based in New York City, recently launched their Ambassador Program. This program offers college students an opportunity to get real world experience in business, earn money at the same time, and go to school.
Metro New York City has twenty-three colleges, universities, and schools of higher learning. That means there are lots of college students – students that need storage at the end of the school year or help moving their belongings back home.
