A large majority of the country watched the New York Giants prove the odds makers wrong by defeating the New England Patriots Sunday night in Super Bowl XLVI, 21-17. The age of the internet has opened up a whole host of marketing methods to businesses of all sorts. Many of the forms of advertising becoming popular via the internet often do not cost companies even close to the amount they spend on more traditional forms of advertising, i.e. print, radio, and television. If they happen to take off, great; if they don’t than it’s no great loss.

Airplane tickets can be outrageously expensive. Hotel rooms can cost quite a bit, too. Sometimes these costs prohibit managers and owners of self storage facilities from going to the Inside Self-Storage World Expo in Las Vegas. Which is too bad. Industry events like the World Expo are very worthwhile to attend. However, this year is a little different. Participate in the contest Loving Las Vegas for a chance to win airfare, hotel stay and free access to the Expo.

It can be hard to gauge the success that an industry is having in a market that is already fairly saturated like the United States is when it comes to the self storage industry. While the industry is doing well in the U.S. its success in emerging markets—like Nova Scotia-- can be considered a good indicator of how well it is doing.

The self storage industry has seen a boon in business in recent years while the nation has been undergoing some rough economic times. Although business has been good overall, an increase in business in general has also resulted in an increase in a part of the business that is not so good—liens and auctions.
