New Self Storage Business Model Becoming Popular

In 1969, the computer that NASA used to put a man on the moon filled a whole room. It had only 64 kilobytes of memory. Fast forward to 2013. The iPad Mini is only 7.87 inches tall, 5.3 inches wide, weighs .73 pound, and comes with either 16, 32, 64, or 128 gigabytes of storage space. It’s an understatement to say that computers have drastically changed over the years since 1969.

STORE Self Storage Participates in Storage Wars Activity

Gulfstream Goodwill Industries partnered with STORE Self Storage & Wine Storage recently and hosted their version of Storage Wars. STORE donated their large storage bays that were lavishly decorated to resemble an upscale hotel instead of a storage facility. This event netted almost $14,000 in one evening. [More]

Joshua Self Storage Solutions Starts Delivering AniMeals

This month, the Johnson and Ellis Counties in Texas launched a new segment to their Meals-on-Wheels program. They are now delivering dog and cat food to their clients who own those types of pets.

Linda Deese, with Meals-on-Wheels, indicated that pets provide senior citizens with friendship, joy, and a reason for living. However, many times those seniors do not have money to buy food for themselves or for their pets. Meals-on-Wheel volunteers often see the seniors sharing their delivered meal with their pet. This showed a need to provide food for pets, too. [More]

LoveSpace -- a New Self Storage Business in the UK

I have a friend who grew up in the countryside. His family owned two acres. There were only 5 members in his family. That was a lot of space for not very many people. Imagine if you took those 2 acres and plunked them down in the middle of London. Lots of Londonites could happily live on that amount of property!

Brett Akker, an entrepreneur, understands that space in London is at a premium. He knows that city populations are becoming denser and homes and apartments are getting smaller. That means there isn’t a lot of space for extra possessions. [More]

You’ve seen those ‘before’ and ‘after’ pictures where a woman is given a makeover. She gets her hair cut and styled and a professional make-up artist applies the latest make-up colors. The change is so drastic that it’s hard for even close friends to recognize who the woman is.
