There are certain places over the next month that folks are going to have to go like the in-law’s house, the mall to shop for presents, or the grocery store to shop for food; all places they don’t really want to go but have to. Santa does have a pretty tall order on this plate every Christmas so it is good that there are plenty of people that want to help him out and insure that kids everywhere have a merry Christmas; people like the U.S. Marines and the Arizona Self Storage Association.
Back in 1947 the charity that would in time become the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program that we have today. The original program served one community in its first year and collected about 5000 toys. Fast forward more than six decades and the program now engages over 700 coordinators and 25,000 marines and volunteers to collect and pass out the millions of toys that are collected. [More]

Many adults feel like they are just one person and as only one person they can’t do much to make a difference in the world. It is amazing that some young school-aged children don’t have that attitude. Because they don’t, they have been effective in creating a successful recycling activity that has raised over $2,000 and donated the money to an organization that supports public schools.

The fall is a beautiful time of year. The leaves are turning, the temperatures cool off, there is a sporting event almost always on; some would say it doesn’t get any better than this. Then you add in the holidays where candy is everywhere (Halloween), you are expected to eat like a pig (Thanksgiving), and presents (Christmas)—seems like you’d want to take it slow and savor every moment, right? It is four days before Halloween. I know many people that think it is awful to see Christmas decorations in the stores before Halloween.
