During NFL games this month the players have been sporting pink cleats, gloves, towels; at one time the referees threw pink flags instead of the usual yellow ones. Several college teams are wearing pink this month as well. The Oregon Ducks are wearing pink helmets against Washington State. Last summer, a buddy and I were on a short road trip. We stopped to get a burger for lunch. We decided to eat at a nearby park that we knew about. When we got to the park, it was more crowded than the stores on Black Friday at Christmas time. We were unhappy and rather put out. But then, we noticed that the crowd was due to a car show. We quickly ate our lunch and then spent an hour looking at classy antique cars and trucks - and even a couple of tractors. What a serendipitous activity to stumble upon! [More]
