Warm weather. Food. Friends. Music. Fun and games. Carnival rides. This and much, much more will be part of the MayFest held in Maplewood, New Jersey. It’s an annual event that the community looks forward to and enjoys. Festival organizers anticipate that between 4,000 to 5,000 people will attend.
Weather permitting, the Fest will be held May 20. If there is inclement weather it will be held the following week on May 27. The Fest will run from 12 noon until 5:00 p.m. [More]

Earth Day has become a worldwide celebration and event in which millions are able to show their appreciation for what the Earth has given us (and allows us to take). LifeStorage is holding its Third Annual Earth Day Shredding on Friday April 20 and Saturday April 21. It will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. The LifeStorage facility in Mokena and Aurora is offering half-price shredding for each standard-sized file box making it only $5 per box. The LifeStorage facility in Wrigleyville is offering 20% off normal shredding costs per box. The person who brings in the largest load of files to be shredded will receive a $100 Visa gift card. Many people in the self storage industry and the general public are aware of the TV show Storage Wars. The TV show has sparked lots of interest in the general public for attending auctions at self storage facilities.
Lynelle Zelnar is aware of this increased interest in storage auctions. And that sparked an idea that she presented to Al Adams, manager of Signature Storage at Monterey in Boynton Beach. Adams liked her idea and a new charitable event was born. [More]

Alzheimer’s is the most common form of dementia. It is the sixth-leading cause of death in the United States and is the only cause of death (among the top ten causes) that cannot be prevented, cured or even slowed.

There are several things that self storage businesses across the United States have in common. They want to provide safe, secure storage space for their customers. They want to make it easy for their customers to have access to their stored items. They want to provide excellent customer service. And, they are concerned about supporting charitable activities.

Self storage companies essentially make the lives of their people better by providing them with something that they are in dire need of, space. Their current arrangements are either too expensive (and they need to downsize) or not big enough. The discrepancy is enough of a problem that they are compelled to act (rent a self storage unit) in order to free up space. [More]
