Inside Self Storage announced that it will hold an exclusive one-day conference for developers and investors in the self storage industry. It will be held Tuesday June 3 at the Jacob Javits Center in New York City. It will go from 8:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m.
Registration for the conference is $799. Registration is now open. Those interested can go to http://www.insideselfstorage.com/conf/ to sign up. Space is limited to 100 participation so early registration is encouraged. [More]

Whenever the word “conference” is used nowadays it is not in reference to annual gatherings of industry professionals, but in regards to phone calls and video chats. Yes, there are still plenty of annual conferences being held in many industries each year, but they are not the first thing people think of when it comes to conferences anymore. [More]

The self storage industry is one that is constantly growing by leaps and bounds. In the United States alone there are over 50,000 self storage facilities. Another 10,000 exist outside of the U.S. and that number is growing all the time; so much in fact that other countries are starting to hold what they hope will an annual Self Storage Expo. [More]

I never win contests. Never. Then, a couple of years ago I entered one and won a two-night stay in a bed and breakfast in Carmel, California. Holy cow! The bed and breakfast was a delightful place and I had a wonderful time in Carmel.
People in the self storage industry have the opportunity to enter a contest (that is just as wonderful) and win a free trip to Las Vegas to attend the largest self storage industry expo. [More]

The 2013 Fall Conference & Trade Show is going strong in Las Vegas. Today is the second day of the four-day event.
Yesterday, David Meerman Scott, a marketing strategist, taught a social media marketing master class. He taught how to harness the power of online marketing. Using his step-by-step framework, he showed how to use blogs, viral marketing, podcasts, online video, and search engine marketing. The self storage industry has been going strong in the United States for many years now. With the industry comprised of over 50,000 facilities now it is definitely doing well. In other countries it is a different picture as the people are still learning the joy and pleasure that a self storage unit can bring.
