Smartbox storage recently opened a new 2,000 square-meter secure storage facility in Braeside, Australia, which is a suburb of Melbourne. Smartbox, a locally owned company which also has a facility in Sydney, expanded their services to Braeside because of the growing demand for their mobile storage units.

To the casual observer, the self storage industry is pretty cut and dry. Business owners essentially own buildings full of spaces as small as closet sized to as big (or bigger) than the average garage that people can store their personal treasures in. However, there are many stores that do a lot more than just store things.

There are certain things that are common in self storage units. You can probably bet that most will have at least one piece of furniture. A lot will probably have at least one box of high school mementos that the owner can’t bear to throw away. If the owner is a dad with toddlers, his golf clubs are probably in their too.

When people think about self storage units, they often think about individual people needing some extra space to store their odds and ends whether it is because they are downsizing their living arrangements or are trying to de-clutter their home. However, more and more businesses are starting to realize that they too can benefit from the use of a self storage unit.

Businesses typically do things that will increase their bottom line, and that is it. After all, that is the point of whatever it is they do, right? People on the other hand are a different. While there are some who act primarily to pad their personal bottom line, there are just as many who act out of a sense of loyalty or based on a set of core values.

There are certain things that a lot of people do not do because they feel like it does not matter whether they do or not. Voting will always be a great example. How many elections have ever been decided by one vote? Another thing individuals make excuses not to do because they cannot make a difference is charitable work.
