RecoverCare Moving Headquarters to Louisville

RecoverCare, a national distributor of wound care and bariatric equipment, announced yesterday that it is moving its corporate headquarters from Radnor, PA (near Philadelphia) to Louisville, KY. The relocation is a part of RecoverCare's corporate restructuring following its merger with MedaSTAT USA (the new company will keep the name RecoverCare). MedaSTAT, which also specializes in wound care and related products, had been based in Louisville since it was founded in 1998.

The merger of RecoverCare and MedaSTAT took place in August 2009. After the merger, company officials thought carefully about which location would offer the most advantages to the new company. "There is a reason that Louisville is known as Possibility City," RecoverCare's Chief Executive Officer, Mark Bidner, reflected. "With its growing healthcare industry and a large pool of experienced healthcare professionals to complement our existing core of talented employees across the country, Louisville is an excellent location for our growing company."

In the first two years after it moves, RecoverCare plans to bring 45 new jobs to the Louisville area. Its annual payroll will be nearly $4.4 million, and the new jobs will have an average hourly wage of $37.98. The company hopes that within seven years, it will be able to produce jobs for 90 people.

Louisville also has many resources to offer RecoverCare employees who are relocating from Radnor to Louisville. Louisville has a burgeoning market of "in between homes" -- homes that are designed to be used temporarily by people who must move before they have a chance to sell their old home and buy something new. Both Louisville and Radnor also have plenty of self-storage that can be used temporarily, while RecoverCare employees look for housing, or permanently, for people who decide to downsize as they move.
