The Louisiana Self Storage Association's Board of Directors recently announced that it has elected Jim Ponti, of Extra Space Storage, as its new president. At the same meeting, the board appointed Shawn Herrick as its new executive director.
Other members of the Louisiana Self Storage Association's board include outgoing president Lana Griffin, vice president Mitch Clark, secretary Tanya Amburgy, and at large members Shaun Ferguson, Allison Walling, and Eric Avery.
The Louisiana Self Storage Association was founded in 2007 as an affiliate of the national Self Storage Association. It has more than 100 members. The Louisiana Self Storage Association, like other self storage associations, keeps track of state legislation that might impact the self storage industry, offers legal counsel to members, publishes a quarterly newsletter, maintains a website, offers educational networking events, and provides forms, such as standardized lease forms, to its members. It also hosts the annual Deep South Self Storage Conference and Trade Show.
