For the fourth year in a row, A-Verdi Storage Containers, of Savannah, New York, will support the American Sprint Car Series (ASCS) Patriot Tour. ASCS races are held all over the United States and Canada. A-Verdi, which is located in upstate New York, will sponsor a series of races in upstate New York.
Every year since A-Verdi began supporting the race car series, it has sponsored a highlighted series. The series is called the "A-Verdi Storage Containers King of Upstate New York" series, and the driver who accumulates the most points over the course of seven races will be crowned the "King of Upstate New York." The series name is a slight change from previous years, when the series sponsored by A-Verdi was called the "A-Verdi Storage Containers King of Central New York" series. The word "central" in the name was changed to "upstate" to more accurately reflect the area in which A-Verdi operates.
The entire "A-Verdi Storage Containers King of Upstate New York" series makes up just one of the series in the ASCS Patriot Five Crown Series.
A-Verdi's president, Joe Verdi, was excited to be again sponsoring the "King of Upstate New York" series.
"It is great that the communities that we serve and our race events are more overlaid throughout New York this year," Verdi said in a statement to Who Won? dated April 6. "I am very excited about the new King of Upstate New York series; it is the next stage of our great run as the King of CNY series. I feel it is going to be a great year."
The A-Verdi series will include races on the following speedways:
- "The Land of Legends," in Canandaigua, NY (May 15)
- Ransomville Speedway, in Ransomville, NY (June 18)
- Rolling Wheels Raceway, in Elbridge, NY (July 23 and 24)
- Black Rock Speedway, in Dundee, NY (April 30, Aug. 6, and Sept. 10 and 11)
The series will open with a race at Black Rock Speedway on April 30, and will conclude with the Black Rock Fall Sprint Finals, on the same speedway, on September 10 and 11. Black Rock Speedway will also host a special event for A-Verdi on August 6. Rolling Wheels Raceway will have two show-up point events on July 23 and 24. The show-up point events will be part of the Summer Shootout. Ransomville Speedway took a year off from ASCS, but is back this year, sharing its race weekend with the 1st Annual Paul Johnson Memorial at Stateline Speedway.
The whole series will be covered on Hot Wings TV, on Time Warner Cable Sportsnet Channels across upstate New York.
