When economic times are as precarious as they are now it is vital for business ventures to do what they can to sustain themselves through the lows so that they will be able to enjoy the eventual highs. Self-Storage Company is trying to help its operators do just that.
Recently the self-storage company with facilities spread across 13 states including New York, Texas, California and many more has kick started the ‘Make Yourself Green’ program. The idea is to see what kind of environmental impact each participating facility is making and then figure out what can be done to help them preserve their resources and became a more viable business.
The process is fairly easy to get started. All that the operators at participating facilities need to do is go to an Internet link, http://www.selfstorageco.com/make-yourself-green-program, to get a copy of the self-assessment. Once the self-assessment is complete operators can go back to the guidelines to see how they can improve in areas that they were deficient.
As the general population gets more and more concerned with the environment it makes more sense for businesses to do what they can to fall in line with environmentally friendly practices. With the growth that organic/ Eco-friendly products have had in the last decade (approximately 20% and still growing), there is no reason not to expect this kind of growth for green businesses.

Along with their push to increase their environmentally friendly practices, Self-Storage Company is involved in the many communities in which Self-Storage facilities exist. Many facilities have been involved with local sports leagues and different community events while others have taken part in food drives and collected clothes for the needy.
By becoming more environmentally friendly the people at the Self-Storage Company are hoping that their appeal to existing customer and potential new ones will increase easily off-setting any costs with going green with increased revenue.
