There are certain things that are synonymous with the fall months. Weather becomes cooler, the kids go back to school, leaves change to a myriad of different colors, the holiday season draws near, and the battle for supremacy in the NFL commences.

Whenever the holiday season rolls around the need for people to give to those less fortunate grows. Whether it is food to eat, clothes to wear, coats to keep warm, or toys for Christmas the need is greater when it comes time for family holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas.

When the NFL season rolls around it is time to break out the jersey, get ready for tailgating, and proclaim to the world that your team is the best even when they are not. To help you do that most teams have a special group of people beloved by thousands—cheerleaders.

Sometimes these things can be brought together to help make the world a better place. That is what the people at Morada Self Storage will be trying to do on Nov 20, 2010, with the help of a local news station and the Oakland Raiders.

Morada Self Storage of Stockton will be hosting an event along with members of the Oakland Raiders Cheerleading Squad, the Raiderettes, and the local ABC affiliate News10. The purpose of the day will be to help collect coats for “The News 10 Coats for Kids Drive.”

Members of the Raiderettes will be on hand for a day of fun-filled football themed excitement, ready to sign autographs and pose for pictures with fans. At some point during the day’s festivities a trio of front row tickets will be given away for the Raiders-Dolphins game on Nov 28.

The Raiders have become a pleasant surprise to the 2010 NFL season. After starting the season 2-4, Oakland has won their last three games by a combined score of 115-37. It is the best the team has done since the 2002 season that ended with the Raiders in the Super Bowl.

This year’s Coats for Kids Drive will mark the 20th annual campaign. In 19 years the total number of coats collected stands at 475,000. If last year’s number of 33, 563 can be reached then the Drive will be able to easily surpass the half million coats mark.

The Morada Self Storage Coats for Kids Football Event will be held Saturday, Nov 20, 2010, from 10am-2pm.
