Once Halloween comes and goes people’s minds turn to the holiday season. It’s time to eat lots of turkey, shop till you drop (and then shop some more), and enjoy the warm feelings that tends to come with each day during this time of year. Peace on earth and good will towards all men becomes more of a reality and less of an old saying.
That good will is must what it takes in order to insure that those around us that are not as fortunate have a happy holiday as well. However, sometimes people need a little more encouragement than just holiday cheer to open up the purse strings.
At Uncle Bob’s Self Storage in Charlotte, NC, they understand that to drive business, regardless of the end results whether its rental customers or donators, you need something that will set you apart; something that will make people want to rent from you or donate to your charity drive. With the Toys for Tots drive in mind the people at Uncle Bob’s Self Storage have decided to appeal to another strong organ, the stomach.
The people at Uncle Bob’s Storage are hosting a barbecue to go with their Toys for Tots drive. People that come to Uncle Bob’s and donate a toy valued at $5 or more will receive a voucher for a free plate of barbecue. Interested people can drop by any of the three locations Uncle Bob has in the Charlotte area to do a good deed and eat a good meal through Nov 20.
"Our goal is to make sure every child has at least one toy to open during the holidays," said Susan Strange, Store Manager.
Uncle Bob’s Self Storage is one of many businesses in the Charlotte area and across the country that assists the Marines in their annual toy drive. Toys for Tots has been collecting toys for children since 1947 and has distributed over 400 million toys to more than 188 million children. More than six million toys are collected and distributed annually in over 600 communities.
"Thanks to Uncle Bob's Self Storage and the other local businesses. We are going to have a great toy drive for 2010," said Sergeant Christy of Toys for Tots.
