Self Storage Company Uses Local Sports Teams to Their Advantage

There is one thing that can be easily said about our society—we love sports. The Super Bowl is proof of what people are willing to do for their favorite teams and the big game; some paid upwards of $15,000 a ticket and others paying as much as $400 just to watch the game on television outside of the stadium.

It is a big reason why advertisers are willing to spend as much as they do on commercials during events like the Super Bowl, and why many businesses try to become affiliated with the sports teams in the locations in which they have facilities. When people go to see the game they will inevitably see your advertisement/banner at the stadium and assign a positive image of your business without even knowing anything about you.

Mini-U Storage, a self storage company with locations all across the nation, is aware of the benefits of being associated with local sports teams and tries to take advantage of the opportunity when they can. They recently became the official self storage company of the NBA’s Philadelphia 76ers. As part of the relationship new renters will receive free tickets to a regular season game during the 2010-11 season.

It is not the first time that Mini-U has made such an offer. Back in December they established a similar relationship in California when they became the official self storage company of the Golden State Warriors. Just like in Philadelphia, new renters are offered free tickets to a Warriors game this season.

The relationship is not just with local professional basketball teams. The company has established similar relationships with teams in the NHL, MLB, NFL, and various minor league teams. Some of the teams involved include the Washington Redskins, New York Yankees, Oakland Athletics, and Colorado Rockies.

The Anaheim Ducks of the National Hockey League were announced as having taken Mini-U Storage as the team’s official self storage company. Along with a pair of tickets to a game fans/renters can get a free truck to move-in, $25 of free merchandise, 99-cent boxes and free use of storage shelves for easier organization.

“We are very excited to be a partner of the Anaheim Ducks,” said Brian Dahn, president of Dahn Corp., which manages Mini U Storage. “Our corporate offices have been located in Irvine, Calif., for more than 30 years and the Anaheim Ducks are a terrific organization.”
