People have different points of view when it comes to going to trade shows. Some go to learn new things from the seminars and presentations. Others go to network among people within the same business industry. For some trade shows are a just a chance to get out of the house for a few days. However, there is one thing that everyone can agree they are interested in when it comes to conferences. Who are the speakers going to be?

The Self Storage Association Spring Conference and Trade Show have lined up a pair of speakers that those from the self storage industry in attendance will find quite interesting to say the least.

One will be a familiar face to many due to the endeavors that he has been involved in throughout his career. Most will know Joe Gibbs as the three time Super Bowl champion coach of the Washington Redskins. If they don’t know him from football it will be from NASCAR where he is the owner of Joe Gibbs Racing, where he has won three NASCAR championships and 145 individual races.

Besides being able to spend some time with one of the most well-known minds in football and racing those in attendance can potentially learn a lot of important lessons from Gibbs that will help them become more successful in the self storage industry. Through his time in football and in racing he has proven his ability to take individuals of varying pasts and abilities and craft them into championship form, something that every business leader would love to be able to do.

The other speaker is likely not going to be as famous as a Super Bowl winning football coach, but the lessons that he will try to convey are as applicable in the self storage industry as any other. T. Scott Gross is an author of 13 different books, but it is his first that he is most well-known for and will be working from when he talks at the SSA Spring Conference and Trade Show, Positively Outrageous Service.

A veteran of the hospitality industry, Gross will use humor and a natural speaking ability to show attendees that ‘loving’ on customers can lead to a much improved business by creating a truly unique product for customers at each transaction. Southwest Airlines, Ford and Wal-Mart have benefitted from his motivational speeches and the self storage industry will have the same chance.

The Self Storage Association Spring Conference and Trade Show will be held at the Westin Hotel in Charlotte, North Carolina, from April 5-7, 2011.
