It is not common that one is able to go about conducting business in a normal fashion and be able to help combat an issue that is affecting a large portion of society at the same time. Many companies are more than happy to do what they can to help anyway, but it is rare that all they have to do is go about business as usual to actually be able to.
With the help of USstoragesearch.com a number of companies were able to do just that.
USstoragesearch.com is a website which allows users to find self storage facilities anywhere in the country among its 18,000 members and over 25 million self storage units. The website basically acts as a marketing tool by providing users with a directory of available facilities by location that makes it easy for prospective clients to find storage facilities when they need to.
People can also make real-time reservations on USstoragesearch.com; 90 percent of the time those reservations result in actual real tenants.
There would not be much to it if it was just an alphabetical listing. Instead, companies pay to have their information treated as a featured listing. Since people often go with the first one they see this can mean the difference between getting more business or none at all.
Self storage companies already go through a quarterly auction process to see who gets the featured listing on the website. When the people at
USstoragesearch.com learned of Kure It, a non-for-profit organization that strives to find a cure for kidney cancer, they knew they had a way to help.
The website decided to use one of their quarterly auctions as a means of raising money for the charity. Come March 15 at the Inside Self Storage Trade Expo in Las Vegas representatives from USstoragesearch.com will present Kure It with a check for $5000.
Kure It is also getting help from the self storage industry in another manner. The California Self Storage Association has announced that they will be partnering up with Kure It to help raise money for cancer research.
The CSSA will be implementing programs, along with help from Kure It, at self storage facilities, one called ‘Round up for Research’ and the other ‘Store for the Kure.’ Between the two programs the CSSA is hoping to lead the self storage industry in raising $1 million to aid cancer researchers in finding a cure.
Since announcing the partnership last October members of the CSSA has worked with other vendors to raise over a half million dollars.
