Uncles are often times one of our favorite relatives. They are always ready to have fun, they just want to see you smile, and will often stop at nothing to make sure that you are having fun and are safe, happy, and healthy. Plus they often know embarrassing stories about Mom and Dad that are really, really funny.
Nieces and nephews in the Syracuse, New York, area will have the chance to show their favorite uncle some love with the help of Uncle Bob’s Storage and the Syracuse Crunch, a local minor league hockey team.
During the month of March the good people at the Syracuse Crunch want to know why your uncle should be the Uncle Bob’s Self Storage ‘Uncle of the Year.’ For fans to nominate their favorite uncle all they have to do is write a short essay (no more than 250 words) on why their uncle deserves to be given such an honor.
Employees from Uncle Bob’s Self Storage along with some of the players of the Syracuse Crunch will act as judges and review the entries. The winner will get a ticket voucher for 10 games during the 2011-12 season, an autographed hockey stick, and a prize pack courtesy of Uncle Bob’s Self Storage.
Fans can turn in their entries at the guest services table at any home game during the month of March. If you can’t make a game than nieces and nephews can show their uncle some love by emailing their entries in to Todd Cross with the Syracuse Crunch (tcross@syracusecrunch.com). The winner will be announced on April 3 before the Syracuse Crunch face-off against Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.
This promotion is not the first time that the people at Uncle Bob’s Self Storage and the Syracuse Crunch have gotten together to promote each other. Recently there was the ‘Name Your Price’ promotion for the Crunch’s game against Albany on March 16. Fans had the option to name what they wanted to pay for their second ticket after buying one ticket at a regular price.
The ‘Name Your Price’ promotion is one which Uncle Bob’s Self Storage likes to run. When new tenants decide to move in to a self storage unit they can get their first month free, name the price they want to pay for the second month, and then start paying regular price for the third month.
