Self Storage Company Shows that Food is Love

by John Stevens July 20, 2011 5:24 PM

Whenever a team wins a championship, after the celebrations die down the talk immediately turns to doing it again next season. While it would be understandable for them to want to enjoy being champs and take it easy for a while, sitting on ones laurels is not what champions are known for.

Such is the case with one self storage unit in Tustin, California.

Tenants of the I-5 Self Storage Facility in Tustin are accustomed to receiving nothing but the best service from the people that operate the self storage facility. What do you expect from a self storage facility that was named the National Self Storage Facility of the Year in 2009 (in the Conversion category).

Rather than sit back and relax, the people at I-5 Self Storage are stepping up their game. One way they are doing so is through community involvement.  A recent effort saw them partner up with the OC Gourmet Food Trucks to help Laura’s House, a non-for-profit organization that helps victims of domestic violence.

"We're fortunate to maintain clean and spacious storage units as well as spacious areas for outdoor RV, Boat, and Car Storage, which also is a perfect venue for hosting the hundreds of people that came from all over Orange County to see firsthand what the OC Food Truck madness is all about,"

A number of local food trucks got together with I-5 Self Storage for the Orange County Food Truck Faire. People in attendance were able to enjoy some of the finest cuisine made on wheels from a variety of different restaurants including Dos Chinos, Rolling Sushi Van, The Flip Truck, Komodo, Mun-chee 5, Slap Fish, and many more.

"What better way to support the community by sharing a delicious meal with friends and neighbors from your favorite local food trucks," asked I-5 Self Storage owner Randy Scott Wong. “"Participants had such a great time sharing their opinions and unique gourmet creations with one another."

A portion of the proceeds from all sales were donated to Laura’s House. All the proceeds from a raffle for tickets and VIP Parking to a Dodgers game were donated as well.

“Judging from the excitement and enthusiasm, I can guarantee that no one went home hungry today," Wong added, "And in the long run, I'm glad that Laura's House increased awareness in their continuing efforts.”
