The webinar "A Solar-Ready Roof: What It Means and How to Get One" will discuss the 'green building' trend in the self storage industry. Michael O'Bryant, regional manager of D. C. Taylor Company, will cover topics such as evaluating your roof before installing solar roofs, options for solar-ready roofs, and the benefits of having a solar-ready roof. D.C. Another issue of concern for storage units is having a self-service kiosk. Many people in the self storage industry have heard about them but are not familiar with how they actually work. The webinar "The Kiosk Advantage: Self-Storage Operators Unravel Fact from Fiction" will expel myths such as using kiosks means providing 24-hour access to your property, that customers in lien status can make payments, that empty storage units must be left unlocked, and that kiosks do not provide personal service.
Robert A. Chiti, president and CEO of OpenTech Alliance, Inc. (developer of kiosks for the self storage industry), will lead a panel of self storage operators from around the country. They will share their personal experiences and explain how they use kiosks at their facilities. Enhancements that resolve manager-identified issues will be explained. There will also be a Q&A session that will cover the pros and cons of using a kiosk.
