Charities likely appreciate the extra attention that they have been getting for the last couple months, but are likely not looking forward to the next couple months when many people don’t feel the need to give since they just did during the holidays. For one self storage company in Atlanta, giving to charity is part of business as usual.
Storage Post Self Storage, a self storage company with facilities up and down the East Coast, recently donated $500 to Angel Flight, a local Atlanta charity that helps provide transportation to those in need of medical or humanitarian aid. Storage Post Chief Operations Officer Jack Chaney shared some thoughts concerning the relationship between his company and Angel Flight:
“…Many Storage Post employees and members of the management team were affected by Hurricane Katrina. Angel Flight’s assistance delivering supplies and medical equipment to New Orleans saved lives. We want to give back to Angel Flight so they can continue to assist those in need in Atlanta and beyond.”
The home office for Storage Post Self Storage is in Atlanta. One of its local self storage facilities (in Doraville) is not too far from Angel Flight’s headquarters. Angel Flight is completely reliant on receiving donations like this and from other corporate and private donors in order to operate.
Endeavors like this are nothing new for the good people at Storage Post Self Storage. Like many places, they did their part during the holiday season. In December they helped collect food for a pair of food banks in Lousianna, the Second Harvest Food Bank in New Orleans and the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank in Baton Rouge.
"The Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank works diligently to provide food to people of all backgrounds in the Baton Rouge area. Storage Post is happy to join such a worthy cause for the community and our customers," Chaney said.
In November they helped out with a pair of coat drives, one in New Jersey (Jersey Cares) and the other in New York (New York Cares). All the companies self storage facilities in each respective state chipped in to help thousands of local residents not have to go cold as the winter chill began to set in around the tri-state area.
"We are very involved in community outreach and local events, like festivals and youth programs. We encourage employees to take initiative in the neighborhood..."
