Conferences and tradeshows provide an opportunity for people in the self storage industry to get to know others, network, learn more about the business, and keep up with trends and legislation. There are two upcoming events that you should be aware of.
The SSA-Florida Self Storage Association Trade Show is scheduled for April 25th through April 27, 2012. It will be held at the Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center in Orlando, Florida. In connection with the trade show, the Storage Business Owners Alliance (SBOA) is scheduling its first ever Vendor-Member Marketplace. The Marketplace precedes the tradeshow on April 24th through the 25th and will also be held at the Gaylord Palms Convention Center.
This event is free of charge. However space is limited so registration is strongly recommended. To register, simply email info@thesboa.com by April 1, 2012 to confirm your spot. A nominal fee will be charged at the door if space is available. I highly recommend you sign up in advance to make sure that you are able to attend. I don't think that you want to miss this event.
A cocktail reception will be held in the evening on April 24 from 5:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. The Marketplace begins on April 25 at 8:00 a.m. and run until the SSA conference starts at 12:30 p.m. The Marketplace will start with a breakfast followed by an opening address by CubeSmart Chairman and CEO Dean Jernigan.
"We are honored that Dean Jernigan will be addressing our attendees" stated Ian Burnstein, President and Co-Founder of the SBOA. "Dean and his organization understand the value of joining a buying group and support the SBOA's mission," Burnstein added.
After the keynote speaker, the Marketplace will highlight vendors in various aspects of the self storage industry. This will be an opportunity for self storage owners and managers to meet personally with vendors to ask questions and learn more about specific products. There will be breakout rooms for individual meetings if desired.
