There is just something about the bond between Man and his dog. The devotion of one to the other is heartwarming and admirable to say the least; the kind of thing that Hollywood has had no trouble using in numerous movies and television shows. Nothing is more reliable or even comes close; except maybe a self storage unit.
Like the family dog, a self storage unit keeps the family’s belongings safe. When you rent a self storage unit you can count on it to keep your personal treasures safe from not only intruders, but from the ravages that weather can inflict on them. That way when you open the door to your unit you can feel comfort that your memories will be there.
For a self storage facility to do what it does it needs to be cared for by the owners of the facility. Without the proper up-keep it’s hard for a self storage unit let alone the facility as a whole to complete its given task. The same can be said for Man’s best friend.
A StorageMart (a self storage company with over 130 facilities in the United States and Canada) facility has decided to help Man take care of his best friend.
The facility in Columbia, Missouri (where the company is headquartered) will be hosting a Doggie Wash and Adoption Event later this month to benefit a Columbia Second Chance, a privately funded/volunteer based animal shelter that helps pets find new homes.
“Organizations like Second Chance realize rescue dogs have so much love to give and work hard to place as many as they can into loving homes. We’re proud to have this opportunity to both assist them in the mission to adopt out rescue animals currently in their program as well as contributing to future rescue efforts,” said StorageMart Marketing Director Sarah Little.
From 11 AM to 3 PM on June 30 volunteers will be on hand at the StorageMart on Providence Road in Columbia with dogs currently up for adoption as well as to wash dogs for $5. For a little bit more owners can give their dog the real luxury treatment and have their nails done (trimmed) as well.
StorageMart will also be making a donation to Columbia Second Chance as part of their “How Much Fits in a Storage Unit” series. The company will see how much food, treats, and toys they can fit into a 5’ X 5’ unit.
Previous installments have seen them experiment with Thanksgiving dinner, bubble bath (in honor of National Bubble Bath Day), and basketballs (in honor of March Madness). The contents were always donated to charity after exactly what and how much of it fit in a unit was documented for posterity.
