San Diego Self Storage Sponsors 10 Chidlren to Go To The County Fair

The county fair. Those words bring up images of cotton candy, popcorn, hot dogs, and lemonade. Of carnival rides, arcade games, of sheep and cows, and blue ribbon winning baked goods and hand-crafted items. There’s always fun for everyone at the county fair.

San Diego Self Storage brought that fun to children from the Solana Beach Boys and Girls Club. They sponsored ten children to attend and enjoy the fair and the educational and inspirational interactive exhibits.

According to SDSS Advertising Manager Sandra Flores, "We had a tremendous response from our outreach program to the Solana Beach Boys and Girls Club and were able to provide access to the San Diego County Fair for children from three families who would not otherwise have been able to attend. I was particularly pleased that the children were able to learn about a variety of San Diego institutions that were represented at the Fair and that they now have a broader understanding of the scope of industries and purveyors that make San Diego unique.”

The Solana Beach Boys and Girls Club is an organization that helps youth. They offer personal development programs, quality after-school activities, competitive sports teams, and special programs in academics, the arts, and athletics. They are dedicated to providing positive activities that develop the education, health, self-esteem, and character of youth. They serve over 25,000 youth in the San Diego community.

San Diego Self Storage has a rich history of supporting charitable organizations.  Recently, they participated in the “Bottles for Babies” campaign that collected monies and baby bottles and donated their collection to military families.

They sponsored the Harlem Ambassadors basketball team and proceeds went to the Canyon Crest Academy Foundation and the Boys and Girls Club of San Dieguito. They held a bocce ball fundraiser that raised monies for Voices for Children, Just in Time, and the Community Resource Center.

They have collected toys for the Toys for Tots program. They have gathered items such as used furniture, baby items, children’s clothing, gift and gas cards and donated to Homefront San Diego that partners with the San Diego’ Navy League to assist military families. They also collected supplies for the relief efforts in Haiti in 2010.

San Diego Self Storage was founded in 1972. They currently own and manage 18 facilities in San Diego County. They have additional facilities in Los Angeles and Orange County.
