There are plenty of people that like to think they can do it—whatever ‘it’ may be—alone; that they don’t need any help or assistance from anyone. While they might be successful on occasion, the road is much tougher when it is travelled on solo. However, when you let your friends give you a helping hand along the way success can be achieved much, much easier.
Many within the self storage industry have taken full advantage of this concept by partnering up with various other business entities in order to provide customers with a much more comprehensive service.
For example, many self storage facilities have teamed up with moving companies making it easy for those in need of transportation of their belongings as well as a self storage unit to get everything they need in one stop. Most self storage facilities will also have packing supplies on hand for sale as well.
Recently a new relationship between two members of the self storage industry was announced, the Storage Business Owners Alliance (SBOA) and the Florida Self Storage Association. The Director of the Florida Self Storage Association, Robert Bret, called the relationship a win-win.
“We are providing our members the opportunity to save substantially on their credit card processing fees and to receive one free year of FSSA membership dues for all locations, whether you’re an existing or new member.”
Ian Burnstein, the President of the SBOA, concurred with Bret’s assessment of the partnership: “We are proud to extend the benefits of our buying power and credit card processing savings to members of the FSSA.”
New enrollees in the SBOA credit card processing program will receive one year of free dues in the Florida Self Storage Association.
Both organizations exist in order to help their respective members thrive. The SBOA was formed to help give small and medium sized self storage facility owners become more profitable by increasing their buying power. By joining forces, the 158,000 members of the SBOA are able to greatly increase their purchase power. Combined they have an annual buying power of $11 billion.
The Florida Self Storage Association concentrates the stability of the industry in the state of Florida along with helping it grow. It was formed in 1999 by a hand full of self storage facility owners back then, but has since grown to include close to 1000 facilities.
