Store Manager Shashi Giri Helps Burtonsville Food Bank in Time of Need

At Extra Space Storage, we’re not just passionate about providing an exceptional self storage experience for our customers. We also care about demonstrating our company’s core values in everything that we do. That includes going the extra mile for our communities and providing support for them in times of need.

One such example happened recently at one of our storage facilities in Burtonsville, MD. Members of a local food bank needed moving boxes to transport donated food to people in need within the community. They came to Extra Space Storage’s location at 15221 Dino Dr to purchase boxes. Store Manager Shashi Giri not only donated the boxes to the group for free, but he also included some of his personal supplies to help them.

Afterward, a local city council member posted photos online to express appreciation for Extra Space Storage’s generosity in donating the boxes to help the local food bank.

“It pleases me to know so many people at Extra Space Storage who care about their community and have a heart to serve those who are in need,” said Matt Herrington, COO at Extra Space Storage. “This serves as a great reminder to surround yourself with teammates who are gracious and humble—it’s a winning combination! When you surround yourself with a team who is more interested in the success of the collective than their own self-interest, everyone wins. I am proud of this team!”

We love to hear stories about our team members stepping up and showing their Extra Space Storage values. If you have a story you’d like to share, please email the tip to info@extraspace.com!
