Below is a statement communicated to Extra Space Storage employees from Samrat Sondhi, CMO & Executive Vice President of Extra Space Storage.
One of our District Managers recently sent this message, and I could not have summarized my own feelings better:
“I am so proud to work for a company that takes care of their employees. Last year was difficult for many, but the Extra Space Storage team went above and beyond to ensure the safety of our employees, our customers, and our business! From closing offices quickly and reopening safely—with stanchions, plexiglass, PPE, and online rentals—to generous COVID-19 relief benefits for employees in need. I am blown away and very grateful.”
Last year had 365 days, but it sure felt longer than that because it contained adversity and uncertainty. However, in the face of all the challenges, we took care of each other, we came together, and we succeeded. At the core of our company’s success is our employees. Simple as that. You make this company what it is today because you care about it—you care about your customers, and you care about the people you work with.
On this Employee Appreciation Day, I would like to thank you for your care, dedication, and commitment. I particularly appreciate the Teamwork, Integrity, Passion, Excellence, and Innovation that you bring to work every day. We see examples of this all around us. Be it a call center agent trying to resolve a customer issue, a store manager covering another store, or a cross-functional team at the Salt Lake City headquarters building a new tool. Your work is truly inspiring as you live the Extra Space Storage values and bring your best to our teams. Extra Space is lucky to have you. I am so proud to be a part of this team with you.
In addition, I wish to express my thanks to all of you who stretched yourselves to help a coworker or a customer during this challenging year. I send my heartfelt thanks to you for the work you do and for making a better tomorrow for all of us.
