Local Places & Extraordinary Spaces: Manhattan Hidden Gems

As part of Extra Space Storage’s Local Places & Extraordinary Spaces series, host and New York City resident Adam Glyn showed us around some of Manhattan’s best local gems. See which spots Adam visited in this NYC borough in the episode below!

Sarge’s Delicatessen & Diner

Sarge’s Delicatessen & Diner in Murray Hill is one of the best delis in Manhattan. Known for their enormous Pastrami Sandwich and world-famous Matzo Ball Soup, Sarge’s Deli is exactly what you want in a New York City diner experience. It’s open seven days a week—from breakfast to dinner—and serves up everything from bagels and lox to split pea soup and steak.

Break Bar

Looking for a smash room where you can get rid of stress after a long week? Hit up Break Bar. Nestled in the Garment District, this NYC rage room will let you take a baseball bat or sledgehammer to just about anything—printers, glass bottles, TVs, dishes, you name it! And after you get done in the wreck room, you can sidle up to the bar for a cocktail or draft beer.

White Horse Tavern

White Horse Tavern in West Village knows how to do Manhattan nightlife just right. It may be the second-oldest bar in New York City, featuring an old-world pub interior, but this cozy tavern on Hudson is anything but antiquated. White Horse is a favorite among locals who want to grab a beer, sip on a craft cocktail, and nosh on modern small plates while meeting up with friends.

New York Comedy Club

Want to catch great comedy shows in New York City? New York Comedy Club has the laughs you need. Located in Kips Bay, this club has been a staple in the NYC comedy scene since the ’80s. Whether it’s open mic nights, lineups featuring on-the-rise standup comedians, roast battles, or drop-ins from famous comedians, you never know what you’re going to get when you visit!

Prince Street Pizza

When you live in Manhattan, having a favorite pizza spot is a must. For many locals, that place is Prince Street Pizza in Nolita. Specializing in the Soho Square, this New York City pizza joint always has a line out the door, and for good reason. Their slices are hot, delicious, and out fast—perfect for a quick lunch on the go or a late-night snack stop on the way home!
